KAFART: Co-Cr8 Artist in Residence Programme 2024 (Nigeria)

Co-Cr8 is a four-week experimental cross-disciplinary residency that brings together six artists from various disciplines, including fashion design, photography, painting, textile design, dance, and poetry. The residency is from October to November 2024, in Kaduna, Nigeria, and will include local and international artists.

With a focus on collaboration and new work creation, Co-Cr8 explores themes such as history, identity, climate emergency, and the exploration of imaginative possibilities, all inspired by this year’s KAFART theme, ‘From Whence We Came’. Through pairings or trios, these artists will collaborate and share their skills to produce work that transcends traditional boundaries.

Sparked by a need for stronger artist connections, the programme offers workshops, story exchanges, and visits to historic sites to provide opportunities for exploration and artistic growth. The collaborative works will be exhibited at the 5th edition of KAFART.

Members of the Atelier Ndokette Collective will serve as mentors for residents of this programme. This project is funded by the African Culture Fund and supported technically by Atelier Ndokette.

The support for participants includes accommodation, living expenses, local travel, production and a group exhibition.

Deadline: 30 September 2024
